Tishman Contractors and Boyd Gaming selected Malcolm
Drilling to utilize its state of the art fleet of top
drive hydraulic drill rigs to construct the foundation
piles for the 3,300 room Echelon Resort, encompassing
two upscale hotels, a 2,600 room Resort Tower and a
700-room Suite Tower. The foundation package for the
Resort consisted of 244 drilled shafts, of which 189
were 6 feet in diameter and averaged 117 feet in length.
Malcolm completed all of the shafts in 29 working days,
averaging over 700 cubic yards of concrete per day.
