Malcolm Drilling was originally approached to budget
a Secant shoring wall to Lease Crutcher Lewis for owner
Martin Selig Real Estate at 635 Elliott St Seattle.
Preliminary budgetary pricing for the Secant Wall exceeded
the owner’s allotment for shoring.
Malcolm Drilling provided the owner with a Value Engineering
solution to the original shoring concept which resulted
in a savings to the owner of $ 1,500,000. This revised
concept utilized CSM ( Cutter Soil Mixing ) techniques
to provide a continuous secant wall for the shoring
system.
Malcolm Drilling worked diligently with the construction
and design team to design and launch the first permanent
CSM wall in the State of Washington.
