Being so close to the bay causes a significant construction challenge, with high levels of groundwater within inches of the ground.

Malcolm Drilling being the design-build foundation contractor tackled the groundwater issue with our patented omega pile system, which allows concrete to be placed as the drilling tool is being withdrawn, leaving no chance for the groundwater to infiltrate. Unlike conventional driven piles, which were used on other parts of this project, the omega piles can penetrate through the dense sand layer and meet the required capacity.
