Robert (Rob) Small has been promoted to Assistant District Manager for the Northern California District at Malcolm Drilling. Malcolm and Rob first met in 2007 while Rob was working as an intern for Caltrans on the Cypress Avenue Bridge project in Redding, California. As a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate in 2008, Rob started with Malcolm as a Junior Engineer, and over the past 14 years has gained extensive managerial experience with all aspects of Malcolm’s core competencies. Rob has worked extensively as a Project Manager and estimator, developing relationships with clients and vendors and demonstrating his abilities as an effective manager. Moreover, he has served as a valuable mentor for new engineers. Most recently, Rob’s role was pivotal in securing the SFPUC Biosolids Project and then successfully managing it to conclude ahead of schedule and under budget.     

He is an excellent example of talent combined with hard work and effort earning career recognition and advancement. Congratulations Rob on your new position and continued advancement within the company.
