The So-Fi Stadium is near completion, this unparalleled stadium will be home of the Los Angeles Rams and will serve Southern California residents for decades to come.
The structure was originally designed on drilled shafts ranging between 24 and 72-inches in diameter. Despite having plenty of real estate around the stadium footprint, the actual construction area was about 100 feet below the surrounding landscape due to its proximity to the flight path of LAX International Airport. This condition brought shaft installation to the critical path for stadium completion. We proposed substitution of most 24, 36 and 48 inch shafts with CFA piles up to 125 feet deep, to accelerate the construction schedule and reduce cost. The proposal was accepted and all shafts and piles were installed in record time.
