Versatile Solutions

Loma Linda, California

The 50-year-old steam plant at the Loma Linda University Health hospital needed a significant foundation upgrade to bring it up to current building codes and prepare for a pending transformer replacement. Much of the work for this OSHPD retrofit needed to be performed inside and immediately surrounding the operating steam plant. Tight site access and low headroom were major challenges. Malcolm utilized a versatile system of drilled shafts, design-build temporary shoring, various utility supports, and other foundation elements to accomplish the work.
