The Residences at 1428 Brickell
We designed and installed the foundation system for The Residences at 1428 Brickell; a premier luxury residential tower located in the heart of Miami’s financial district. The scope included the installation of 325 continuous flight auger (CFA) piles, utilizing 10,000 psi grout to meet demanding structural load requirements. Additionally, Malcolm installed deep soil mixing (DSM) across a 28,000 SF area, which included a 200 LF soil mix soldier pile wall designed to support a 15-foot-thick concrete mat foundation. The excavation phase involved removing 15,000 cubic yards of material with careful attention to slope stability, ensuring safe and efficient access to the final excavation depth. Malcolm deployed specialized equipment including one of our Bauer BG55 drill rigs for the DSM and CFA operations.
The complex geotechnical conditions and dense urban environment required detailed planning, innovative construction techniques, and precise execution. Malcolm’s technical expertise ensured a seamless delivery, laying the foundation for one of Miami’s most anticipated high-rise buildings.
