Sonic drilling sample collection in Alaska
Malcolm Drilling recently provided sonic drilling services in Alaska. As part of the project, Malcolm conducted continuous soil core drilling and sampling to characterize the ground conditions and install monitoring wells to provide information about the quality and elevation of the groundwater. Data from these samples will inform measures taken to mitigate the environmental impacts caused by historical mining operations.
Malcolm also provided rock coring to identify potential borrow sources for ecological mitigation measures which will be used to determine what materials on the island can be used to design and build berms, barriers, and other flow controls to support environmental mitigation.
