CFA Mega Pile Installation at Brickell Flatiron
Malcolm’s Brickell Flatiron project provided a perfect opportunity to debut a new Liebherr LR 1300 crane equipped with a Bermingham lead system to install large diameter, CFA Mega Piles. This 64-story building located in Miami’s most sought-after residential community required a total of 560 CFA Mega Piles, 30 inches in diameter and up to 130 feet in depth, through strata of limestone, cemented sand, and calcareous sandstone. When this 736-foot-tall high-rise is complete, it will be one of the tallest residential towers in the United States.
The success of this complex, design-build project secured Malcolm’s position as a leader in advanced CFA pile technology in the Southeast, and it complements a growing portfolio of similar design-build projects, including the Port of Miami Tunnel, Brickell City Centre, and the Jade development projects.
