Malcolm Drilling was selected on the basis of cost and schedule to construct the drilled shaft foundations on several hotel/condominium towers on the City Center Project- a 67-acre mixed-use urban center in the heard of Las Vegas. Although the entire scope of work encompassed over 2,500 shafts up to 120 feet in depth, the crowning achievement for this project was the construction of the Pelli Tower foundation piles in just 32 days.  The Pelli Tower required 442 shafts, the majority of which were 4 feet in diameter and averaged 112 feet in depth. To accomplish this feat, Malcolm utilized four Bauer BG-40 drill rigs and kept them working 12 hours per day.

Other buildings and structures on the project included the VDARA condominium, the Harmon Flyover Bridge, the Convention Center, the Podium structure and the Showroom Theatre.
