I-405 Brickyard

Malcolm partnered with Skanska and Brierley Associates on the WSDOT I-405 Brickyard Improvements project to construct 1,600 linear feet of double-tier permanent earth retention supporting a new roadway alignment. The retaining system served a dual purpose: providing permanent support for the new roadway while incorporating measures to stabilize and mitigate an active landslide adjacent to the alignment.

Through value engineering, proactive planning, and seamless coordination, Malcolm successfully delivered the retaining wall system while working within one of the region’s busiest transportation corridors. The Brickyard Improvements project highlights Malcolm’s expertise in delivering complex permanent retention systems through value engineering, collaborative problem-solving, and safe execution.
