Enhancing SoFi Stadium with CFA Mega Piles in Los Angeles

The SoFi Stadium home of the Los Angeles Rams, was originally designed with drilled shafts ranging from 24 to 72 inches in diameter. Despite having ample real estate around the stadium footprint, the actual construction area was situated about 100 feet below the surrounding landscape due to its proximity to the flight path of LAX International Airport. This condition made shaft installation a critical element for stadium completion. Malcolm Drilling proposed substituting most of the 24, 36, and 48-inch shafts with CFA piles up to 125 feet deep to accelerate the construction schedule and reduce costs. The proposal was accepted, and all shafts and piles were installed in record time.
