Salt Lake City Airport

With flexible design intended to adapt to the changing aviation industry, the Salt Lake City International Airport Redevelopment Project has set the standard for the next generation of hub airport facilities.

Malcolm Drilling has been involved in this multi-phase project from the very beginning.  One of the phases of work involved installation of more than 7,500 stone columns, temporary excavation shoring using our triple-auger soil mixing technique, and a deep dewatering system including recharge wells. The ultimate goal for this work was achieved when Malcolm delivered a shored excavation with a stable subgrade sufficient for heavy equipment and rock trucks to access the bottom of the excavated site.
