Geothermal Wells and Sonic Drilling in Lakewood, WA
In Lakewood, WA, Malcolm Drilling commenced a project focused on drilling and installing two geothermal loop test wells. Utilizing sonic drilling methods, the endeavor involved providing continuous sonic soil core samples for meticulous logging and characterization by the geotechnical engineer. Reaching depths of 350 feet below the ground surface, each well was equipped with an SDR11 HDPE geothermal loop and backfilled with thermally enhanced grout. The thermal conductivity testing, conducted by experts, yielded invaluable insights, shaping the final design layout of the geothermal wells.
