Introducing the newest addition to Malcolm Drilling’s team – Mike Muchard, Chief Geotechnical Engineer – Deep Foundations.

Please join us in welcoming Mike Muchard. After obtaining his engineering degree at the University of South Florida, Mike co-founded Applied Foundation Testing (AFT) and successfully managed this business for over 25 years. Mike brings a wealth of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and deep foundation testing with him. He has always been an innovator, having played a key role in pioneering innovative technologies that have positively influenced the foundation industry. His contributions were in the areas of data driven design improvements, Statnamic® load testing, Bi-Directional load testing, drilled shaft base grouting, contemporary integrity testing methods and evaluation, and the modern Shaft Inspection Device (SID). Mike is an active member of ASCE, DFI, ADSC and PDCA and contributing member of the ASTM D11 committee.

In his new role he will function at the corporate level as a Chief Geotechnical Engineer for Malcolm’s Deep Foundation practice. He will focus efforts on Design-Build foundations systems and support all our regional districts. We are very excited to have him on board to further expand our technical in-house expertise.
